Okay so my jogging fizzled I won't lie. Since I started the calorieking diet I've not really been exercising and here's why. On their program you have to reach a certain number by the end of the day with all of your food calories and your exercise calories taken into account. My number is 1300. If I eat my 1300 and then workout and burn off 150 calories, then I'm technically supposed to consume 150 more calories because if not my number at the end of the day would be 1150, which in their program is too low. So, I've kinda given up exercising to see if this works or not. I'm just going to consume my 1300 calories a day and not exercise and see if I lose weight.
I figured up and on average I was eating less than 1000 calories a day and I was also working out and gaining about 150 calories from working out so really my number at the end of the day was around 850 which is quite low. I think I may have been consuming too few calories and therefore not losing anything. That is my current thought. We will see how this new 1300 calorie plan goes.
I haven't weighed myself in a few days. I said I wasn't going to weigh myself til Wednesday (which is the day I weigh in for record on calorieking). I've done pretty good with sticking to the plan. Friday I went a little off because we had some barbeque for dinner, but other than that I've been right on my 1300 calorie goal. I so desperately want to weigh myself right now. I'm a habitual weigher. I've caught myself weighing at least three times in one day. I know this is horrible. Its just a habit I have.
I will maintain that I do feel so much better eating healthier and not consuming so many calories like in the past. I feel better for sure! Now if I could only lose some weight, that would make me feel even better.
I weighed myself on Friday and I was at 156 which means from Friday July 24 to Friday July 31 I gained 1.8 pounds. We did splurge and have sour cream chicken enchiladas on that Tuesday, so maybe that had something to do with it. Who knows. I'm just really ready to lose this darn weight. I feel like I've been battling this all summer and have achieved nothing. I'm crossing my fingers that this calorieking thing works.

12 more days
Well I've been successful so far on my two mile jogs. I completed it on Monday, yesterday around 9:30am, and this morning at 6:30am. I'm feeling good but very very sore. My thighs are on fire. I always heard that if you exercise when you are sore its supposed to help get rid of your soreness faster, but I don't think that is true at all.
As for food...........yesterday we went to breakfast and I had two eggs over medium, hash browns, and two slices of dry wheat toast. For lunch we were supposed to go to Pappa's Burgers in Ft. Worth but it was very busy when we got there so we decided to go to Uncle Julio's instead. I had two sour cream chicken enchiladas (hey I haven't had those in a looooooooong time and Uncle Julios is amazing) a little bit of mexican rice and a little bit of refried beans......and one flour tortilla. I had some chips and salsa but not nearly as much as I would normally consume. I did not have a sangria or a margarita (I would have taken either in a heartbeat!).
Dinner was a turkey sandwich and steamed squash. The only alcoholic beverage I had was a low calorie margarita.
All in all I think I did pretty darn good. I exercised yesterday so that should help also.
I joined the calorieking.com club that they offer. I'm excited about it. According to my weight (I rounded to 155 for an even number even though I'm really 154.2 but who's counting) and my age and what weight I want to be at, I am supposed to eat 1300 calories a day. I really don't know how many calories I usually consume in a day but I don't think it is more than 1300 honestly. I bet it is pretty darn close.
Anyway for breakfast today I'm going to have 1/2 cup of egg beaters with 1 wedge of laughing cow cheese nuked in the microwave on a 100 calorie English muffin. That is roughly 195 calories right there.
Lunch will be a sandwich and some steamed veggies I'm sure. If I want a snack I'm going to have an apple with a 60 calorie size serving of light n' fit yogurt. Dinner will probably be a lean cuisine (I don't cook dinner on Wednesday nights). I'll probably have a couple alcoholic drinks averaging 100 calories each. Plus my jogging burns off around 185 calories so that should help some too.
Alright off to fix breakfast and hang out with the kiddo.

13 days left
Alright here's the skinny. I did not get up at 6am and go for my almost two mile jog. I did however go for my almost two mile jog around 1pm this afternoon so i'm still counting it. I didn't do as bad as I thought I would. I jogged most of it, but walked some here and there. I survived. Haha victory is mine. Not only did I do the jog, my husband and I went for a walk around 5pm this afternoon (about a mile and a half) at the park. The weather has been fantastic today. Overcast with some rain showers here and there and the temperature has been around 80 so we took advantage of it.
Breakfast I had the egg beaters and laughing cow cheese concoction on a low calorie english muffin. Lunch consisted of a chicken pesto sandwich from Which Wich (not sure how many calories were in that!). I only had the sandwich though! Dinner was some Tyson chicken nuggets, steamed red potatoes, and steamed asparagus. Yum-o! I'm channeling Rachael Ray apparently.
Tomorrow I will be going for my MORNING jog for sure! I hope to get some additional exercise in there somewhere along the way as well.
I have all the supplies I need now to make the low calorie margaritas from hungry girl. Don't think I'll try those out tonight though. I also picked up some stuff to make some low calorie brownie-like muffins also from Hungry Girl. Hope those are as yummy as she made them out to be.
I know that tomorrow I'm going to go off plan a little. My hubby is off work and we are going to go to breakfast...............something we haven't done in a long long time. And for lunch we are wanting to try out this burger place in Fort Worth that supposedly has some to die for burgers. I don't think I'll be eating any fries with my burger though. Dinner will probably be an ice cube to make up for breakfast and lunch lol.
Til tomorrow.

7/26
Friday I weighed myself and my weight was 154.2 which means I only lost .6 lbs but at least I didn't gain I guess. Yes I was hoping for a bigger loss, but at least I lost something.
Over the weekend we went out of town to see my parents. My mom made a millionaire pie (yes a damn millionaire pie!) and I had a slice yesterday and one today. I didn't do horribly; i could have done a lot worse thats for sure. I didn't do great either though.
Tomorrow is D day..............damn I've really gotta get up and go for a jog day. I keep telling myself that it is only 15 days. 15 days seems manageable to me. I have to remind myself in the morning (and every morning I'm sure) why I'm doing this.................to look hot of course. But seriously I really gotta lose this damn weight. I can't afford a tummy tuck so I guess I gotta do it the old fashioned way. Fuck!
Tomorrow I am also back on plan. I did find a few helpful and interesting recipes for some low calorie foods from hungry-girl.com I'm going to try out the egg beaters with laughing cow cheese mixture that sounds really good. I'm also going to try out some low calorie margarita recipes. Yay! I haven't had a margarita in SO LONG. I also picked up some boca burgers. I used to eat those quite a bit, but apparently I forgot all about them. I'm planning on having one on a 100 calorie English muffin with a little light mayo or mustard.
I'm still loving my steamed veggies. Thank God for Zip n' steam bags. Those are my absolute favorite things on this planet. Chicken is amazing cooked in them. Love em!

7/23
I've done very well on my diet today even though I started out very frustrated. I still stuck to it. Breakfast was a hard boiled egg, lunch homemade tuna salad sandwich with 100 calorie bag of popcorn, dinner stir fry chicken with brown rice. I've had one glass of wine and I plan on having a full fledged crown and coke later on. I haven't had one of those in quite a while, so I'm going to tonight. I also did my walk away the pounds dvd.
This weekend we are going to my parents. I'm hoping that the food temptations will not be super strong; i know my mom will probably bake at least one dessert if not two.
I came up with an idea to increase my cardio and I'm going to go ahead and publish it. If I actually write it out, then I have a higher chance of following through with it. My plan is for the next three weeks to get up around 6 give or take a snooze or two and go for a walk/jog around my neighborhood every morning, Monday through Friday. In addition, I will also continue doing my walk away the pounds dvd during the day if possible. I've got to get this weight off and I really think adding the extra exercise will definitely help. So there it is. Starting on Monday I'm going for a walk/jog in the morning. P.S. I'm not at all a morning person!

7/23 (frustrated)
I weighed myself this morning and I have gained a pound since last Friday. Yes I realize today is Thursday and not Friday, but I've done really good this week (with the exception of my little Snickers splurge).
I don't know what to do. I'm a firm believer in eating right and exercising and viola the weight will come off. But its not coming off, that's the problem. I haven't gotten to exercise as much this week as I normally do. And I don't think my thirty minutes of walking/jogging is enough exercise. I really need to burn more calories than what I'm doing. I need to exercise more, but unfortunately at this point I can't. I have a ten month old at home so I can't really go to the gym. Yes gyms have babysitting, but I don't want him to be exposed to that many kids and that many germs as young as he is. Plus he's been quite cranky lately, so I don't want to have to go all the way to the gym only to be there for ten minutes and have to leave because my child is cranky. When school starts I've got to force myself to go after school at least two times a week. I'd really love to go three, but I'm going to start out with two. At this point I'm not sure if I'm going to reach my goal of pre baby weight by Brett's first birthday and that is really upsetting to me.
I don't want to try a fad diet because we all know how those work out. I have been thinking about the possibility of diet pills. I just don't know what to do. I feel so defeated. I'm doing so good on my diet. I don't snack, I don't eat chocolate, I do sooo good. I don't eat fast food except for Subway or Boston Market. I used to eat fast food all the time! I hate this feeling.

diet 7/21
Today I went a little off plan.
I started out strong, hard boiled egg for breakfast. For lunch I met my husband at Mimi's Cafe. There I had a house salad with ranch on the side and the lunch portion of the petit citrus salmon with some kind of greens and strawberries tossed in a balsalmic dressing of some sort. I was less than impressed with my salmon. It was a very small portion and it just wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping/expecting.
The thing that really got me off plan was this..........my child. Ever since he turned 10 months old (last Saturday) he's been a royal terror. Friday he cried nonstop, Saturday he was fussy, Sunday he was somewhat normal, yesterday he was fussy in the afternoon, and well today.......today he was a complete fuss bucket! He is usually great out in public, but when we were at the restaurant he cried and fussed and pouted until someone held him. This little incident sent me running for comfort, comfort from a long lost friend.................chocolate. I went to Target after lunch and thought of all the wonderful things I could sink my teeth into. I even thought about going to Corner Bakery (which is right next door) for a chocolate baby bundt cake. In the end I chose a Snicker's candy bar. No, this wasn't the best choice I probably could have made, but it was a lot better than some of the other thoughts running through my head. So, I ate every bite of that candy bar and enjoyed it to the fullest. I did indeed feel quite a bit better afterward. I don't even think I felt guilty about it.
Dinner consisted of grilled broccoli and mushrooms along with 2 very small very petite bacon-wrapped filets. Did I necessarily need 2 filets..........no. I was hungry. Lunch wasn't very satisfying. I also consumed 2 Miller Chills...................thus far. I'm sure I may have another one later on or a cranberry juice with blueberry vodka. We shall see.
All in all I don't think I did too horribly on my diet today. I did not work out at all, so that will probably hinder me more than my food choices did. Tomorrow should be a regular day and I should be able to exercise. I'm not too worried about it at this point. I've got Wednesday and Thursday to do really good (I weigh myself for record on Friday mornings).

Alcohol and Dieting 7/21
I must must must be able to drink on a diet, or else the diet will go away very quickly. A few drinks I enjoy while dieting (because they have less calories) Bud Lite with Lime or Miller Chill (about 100 calories). I also recently discovered blueberry vodka. This is very good mixed with light cranberry juice (about 150 calories). I splurge every now and then and have either crown and coke or coconut rum and coke or coconut rum and pineapple juice. I also enjoy drinking Hornsby's or Woodchuck. These have about 200 calories as opposed to just 100 for the Bud Lite or Miller, so I don't have these two very often. My new favorite wine is blush. I always liked riesling or muscat canelli, but I must say the blush is becoming my new favorite. Hopefully I will discover other alcoholic beverages with fewer calories than normal.

Diet (blah!) 7/20
I decided that I'm going to try to blog about my diet each day in hopes that it will keep me on board and accountable for my actions (all of them).
After giving birth ten months ago, I've still got about 15 lbs. of baby weight still hanging around. I was staying steadily around 160 for a while, but then had a few stressful months which dropped me down to teetering around 155. That means I've got 15 lbs to lose to be back to pre baby (and I really want to be down to about 135, so that really translates into 20 lbs.)
When I was younger and inspired to lose weight due to my impending wedding, I was able to shed close to 20 lbs in roughly six months. I'm hoping it doesn't take that long this time. Yes its been ten months already and I've only really lost 5 lbs, but I really didn't try THAT HARD to lose the weight the last ten months. I was more concerned with sleep for about the first four months then I was about losing weight. But now that my child is older and easier (somewhat) to take care of, I can concentrate more on looking (and feeling) good. To me looking good does have to do with my weight. When I weigh less I feel more confident and I think I look a lot better too.
I started dieting for real last week. July 11th was a day of major splurging as was July 12th. July 13th was operation diet! I did fabulously all last week. I weighed myself on Friday (July 17th) and the scale showed 154.8. I made a goal for myself to be down to 150 by the Motley Crue concert (Aug. 8th). Gotta look hot for my crush Tommy! That means basically 5lbs. in three weeks. Saturday, July 18th was my splurge day. I feel it is important to have one day where you can splurge a little to reward yourself for doing so well and so you don't feel like you are only eating carrots and celery all the time. Saturday my dear husband and I decided to go to Red Lobster. Here I consumed the salad with a little bit of ranch dressing, one yummy biscuit, the lunch portion of shrimp linguinie alfredo, and DH and I shared an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms and calamari. I left feeling full and satisfied! Later that evening I had some bluebell ice cream (not a whole lot or anything). Saturday was very good in my book. Sunday (yesterday) I was back on plan. The only real splurge came at dinner time. We had whole wheat penne pasta with marinara sauce and two slices of garlic cheese toast.
Today I'm on plan again and doing well. I've had a hard boiled egg with Franks Red Hot for breakfast. Lunch consisted of a turkey sandwich and about ten baked lays potato chips along with an apple and light 'n fit yogurt as my "dipping sauce". I hate yogurt by itself so I disguise it as best I can. My calories consumed thus far are roughly 420. I do not count calories for fresh fruit or steamed vegetables. Plus, I did walk away the pounds the 2 mile walk/jog interval. My dinner is going to be shake n bake pork chops (2 thin slices of pork chops), steamed green beans, and about a cup of garden vegetable rice (Uncle Ben's microwaveable rice). I also plan on having a few alcoholic beverages. More to come on that.

Yoga
The first week of summer break is coming to a close already. So many great things have happened this week, now granted they are quite small, but it isn't the size that matters right? For instance, I've made a commitment to myself to exercise (in the form of walking/jogging) 3-4 days a week and to take a yoga class one day a week. So far I've accomplished that goal this week and I'm very excited. I have always viewed exercise is something I need to do but don't want to do. Well I still kinda view it that way, but I'm realizing the importance of it. Say for instance like brushing your teeth. It isn't necessarily a ball of fun, but you do it because you know you need to, plus your breath smells better afterward! Same for exercising.
I mentioned yoga. Well let me tell you about the yoga experience I had on Thursday. I took an hour and fifteen minute yoga class with eight other people and a very pleasant instructor. Its the kind of yoga where you do it in a heated room, just fyi. I'm picturing going to this class and being surrounded by stay at home soccer moms (all of which drive BMWs and have 3 carat diamoned rings and have fake baked for their entire lives or have just gotten back from a three week vacay to Fiji) who have done yoga for years and years and are absolutely perfect at it. I also pictured the instructor "leading" the class by being up front and going through all the motions as we go through them so we know what the hell to do and how to do it. I also thought that ya the room will be hot and I'll probably sweat a good deal but nothing too terribly bad. And as far as me, well I feared showing up with the Wal-Mart special yoga mat and wearing the wrong attire for yoga. Well this was not how it was. First off, there were three men in this yoga class along with women of varying ages, ethnicities, and socio-economics statuses. Whoo I can breathe a sigh of relief. The stay at home hot ass soccer moms won't be there to look down their tanned noses at me and my teacher salary! My attire was not necessarily the picture perfect attire for yoga, but it was alright. I know what I need to do differently next time for sure. And my yoga mat didn't really look any different than the others (except I didn't put a towel over my yoga mat like everyone else did......more on that in a minute). So, all in all, things were looking pretty good at the beginning. Yes the room was a little warm, but nothing unbearable. I didn't feel like I was doing yoga in the Sahara Desert or anything. My instructor did not instruct us at the front of the class and show us how to do everything. She walked around the room assisting people and verbally telling us what poses to go into. I had to look at my neighbor to see what I was supposed to be doing. After about the first twenty minutes of class I realized why everyone had put a towel over their mat. Sweat! I'm not talking about a little persperation or glistening, I'm talking about water pouring off of my body from every possible sweat gland I possess. I looked down at one point and the tops of my feet were sweating. My forearms were even sweating. And then my mat started to get sweat on it from my sweating body. My hands and feet started to slide around which made some of the poses impossible to complete. Now I know why everyone had a towel over their mat! I will be bringing one next time for sure. At the end of the class I was so soaking wet that I really thought I had been outside walking in the rain or running through a sprinkler on a hot summer day. Neither of these had happened. It was my own sweat. And there was lots of it. I don't think I've sweat that much since I was doing gymnastics in the middle of summer in Amarillo. So, by the very end of the class (which I had no idea when that was because there were NO CLOCKS in the yoga room) I was in fact doing yoga in the Sahara Desert! I walked away drenched, a little sore, and feeling pretty damn good that I had actually survived it. This morning I am so incredibly sore. My abs are sore. I had no idea I had even worked my abs, but apparently I did. Every muscle in my body is sore, yet I still plan on going back and doing it all over again next week!
Maybe one of these days I will be a hardcore yoga guru. In the meantime, me and my Wal-Mart special yoga mat (with towel over it) will do as best we can.
It's been a while........
since I've written anything on here. I've been crazy busy with the new baby in my life. He is three months old and has definitely stolen my heart. The first few weeks were really really hard and quite an adjustment (I thought my life was over to be honest), but now things are leveling off and going well.
I'm on Christmas break right now which is great. I knew there were a few reasons why I am a teacher still..........this would be one of them. I'm greatly enjoying staying home with Brett and just chillin. He takes a couple of hour long naps throughout the day so I can at least do some laundry and straighten up the house every now and then, but that is about it.
I of course didn't want to go back to work, but I had to, so I just sucked it up and did it. It would be nice if I could stay at home, but that can't happen right now. And besides, I wouldn't have anyone to gossip about and with if I did that.
My New Year's resolution is of course to lose the baby weight. I lost like 20-25 lbs. within the first two weeks and then I haven't lost a pound since. I need to lose 20 lbs. to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I would love to lose 30 lbs. total. We'll see how that goes. I'm just going to watch what I eat and exercise and hopefully that will do the trick.
My friend Candice and I workout everyday (try to) after school in my classroom. It is seriously the only time I have to workout. I have zero time for anything during the week.
Hopefully I'll be able to write more in the future, but we will see.

Tomorrow!
I am being induced tomorrow morning. I am so very excited about this and at the same time nervous as hell! Tomorrow is my actual due date which is cool and it is also my mother-in-law's birthday so she will be super excited if he does in fact arrive on her birthday. I'm hoping for a regular labor/delivery, no marathons wanted here, but obviously I can't control that. I think my husband is more nervous about the whole ordeal than I am...........or maybe I'm just in denial. I like to go with the whole ignorance is bliss thing. Seems to be working thus far. The one thing I won't enjoy much is the hospital stay. I really don't like hospitals. I find them so depressing. Guess that is another reason why I never went into the medical field. I'm also a bit concerned about the hospital food. Will it be edible?
I'm trying very hard not to think about school at all for the first week of my maternity leave, but it is very difficult. I want my long-term sub to do well and have a good experience like I had when I was a long-term sub. Also, I am very territorial when it comes to my classroom. I like it neat and orderly and I don't like it in a disarray..................I hope she feels the same way about it too.
I'm off to go do a few more chores that need to be done before I come home with a BRAND NEW BABY!

almost over
not summer, but my pregnancy. it has gone by really quickly. I'm officially about a month away from my due date, so in my mind it could happen any time between now and then. I'm hoping to make it to at least Aug 18th (start of school for teachers anyway). Nothing fits anymore. I can't really get away with wearing tank tops and shorts to school, unfortunately, so that means I'll have to go get some new clothes for like three weeks of being pregnant. It is becoming more and more difficult to shave my legs and I can't even think about painting my toenails.........its hard enough to see my toes let alone get down to them. the only shoes that are comfortable are flip flops. if i'm on my feet too much they swell up to the size of a cantalope (each one) and I have cankles. heartburn is a new word to me. i never had it before i was pregnant, but now i'm surprised if i don't have it when i go to bed. tums is one of my new best friends. my ass has grown exponentially. i've started to do the pregnant waddle. i spend more time in the bathroom than in any other room in our house.........not even the kitchen. i make sure that there is plenty of room between me and the table when we sit in booths at restaurants. i've begun to crave anything that contains alcohol...........even a straight shot of tequila. those horribly mean people that drink around me should have a one way ticket to hell for that kind of torture. i used to not mind it so much, but now after eight months of being alcohol free, i'm ready for some damn alcohol. breathing has become more difficult also. i'd rather not take the stairs because i don't want to huff and puff when i get to the top. and to think people call this a miracle and a special time in your life and some even go so far as to say that you're at your most beautiful when you're 'with child'. ha! forty pounds ago i was a lot more beautiful. i didn't have this thick, coarse hair and all these pimples from lovely hormones either. its a wonder that people have more than one child!

summer is almost over
As I acknowledge the fact that today is Aug. 1st, I realize that school is just around the corner. This summer has gone by extremely fast; it feels like yesterday I was packing up my room for the summer break. Now I will be unpacking it for the start of another year. So many things will be different this school year: new principals, old friends not being there, new people in our department, new baby, etc. etc. I must confess that I'm kind of ready for school to start. Don't get me wrong, the idea of having to wake up at 5:30 makes me want to hurl, but I guess I'm just ready to have a 'purpose' again. Besides there is nothing good on television during the day anyway, so why not work? I'm sure two weeks into school starting I will regret ever having said that I was ready. And I don't dare say it in front of my friends; I think they would kill me on the spot. My summer has been good, very very uneventful but good. I definitely needed the break. I guess another reason I'm ready for school to start is because that means the closer I am to my due date. I'm ready for this baby to come out and see me and his dad. I haven't hated being pregnant. I've had a very easy pregnancy for sure, but I'm ready for it to be over and I'm ready to hold him in my arms instead of in my uterus. Now if there was just some way I could skip the whole labor and delivery portion of this process and just go from being pregnant to having a baby, that would be fantastic.
The other day Andy and I were at Babies R Us (our new favorite store) shopping for some things and we stumbled across some Halloween costumes for babies. I am shocked seeing as how it is only August 1st, but I guess the earlier the better. We found several cute costumes for our unborn child, but decided to wait. This whole experience sparked a conversation between my husband and me on the subject of what we dressed up as for Halloween. I must say that every once in a while as an adult I unlock one of those treasured little gems in my memory that I've completely forgotten about (or blocked) and get to laugh about it now that I'm older. This is exactly what happened when we were talking about our old costumes.
I remember vividly that one Halloween before I was in school I wanted to be a ballerina. My cousins who were a few years older than me were having a big Halloween party at their house and I was invited of course. I was super excited because I had never been to a Halloween party before and because I got to wear my costume. I'm not really sure what possessed my mom to do this (probably lack of funding I'm guessing) but she went out and bought a pajama set that looked like a ballerina costume. It had a shirt and matching pink pants that were footed and it had been screen printed to look like a ballerina costume. It even had a flap of a "two-two" built in. I didn't know any better so I thought this costume was awesome. I was a ballerina just like I wanted to be. Well the night of the Halloween party came and I excitedly dressed in my costume......err.......pajamas and my mom informed me that I had to wear tennis shoes over the footed pajama part because she didn't want my feet to hurt or for me to get stickers. So reluctantly I put my tennis shoes on over the faux ballerina slippers and we went to the party. Everything was going great until my future arch nemesis Carrie Mullins showed up to the party. She was also a ballerina, except her mom didn't buy her pajamas. She had on the real deal with a real two-two and real ballerina slippers (that bitch). I was so envious and devastated all at the same time. Here she was an actual ballerina and here I was some kid in her pajamas with her tennis shoes on. Come on! And that is my very first memory of Carrie Mullins and I never liked her. I told this scarring story to my husband and I was laughing so hard I was literally crying. Thank God for being able to look back on parts of your life and laugh, even if it involved wearing pajamas on Halloween. Thanks mom!

Baby shower
Today my two great friends hosted a baby shower in my honor. It was so great. I had such a good time and enjoyed everyone being there. The two hostesses did a fantastic job with everything and I was so impressed and thankful. I received some really great stuff (I'm very descriptive can't you tell) and got to eat some yummy food as well. What could be better? Thanks to all of you who came and thanks to my two fabulous, fantastic hostesses! I was very impressed.

4D Ultra Sound
Today Andy and I went to have a 4D ultra sound done. I am officially 31 weeks pregnant and my doctor advised me not to do it after about 34 weeks because there isn't much room in the womb to get a good pic. So we decided to go ahead and do it. It was very cool. I've only had two ultra sounds before this and it was just the plain jane black and white done in the doctor's office. The technician could see and identify everything, but we couldn't make out anything. This one was different. We were able to see the face, the legs, feet, hands, and the part that makes our son a boy. I don't know if he is just camera shy or what, but once again he was asleep during the ultra sound. Maybe this is a sign of things to come..........him actually sleeping. Somehow I doubt that but I can always hope right. The whole experience was great. Very peaceful and relaxing. We could see the baby up on this big projection screen instead of this 11 inch t.v. screen like at the doctor's office. The lady was very polite and helpful in identifying what certain things were. It was a lot of fun and I wish I could have one every day. We got to see him yawn and we got to see him poke himself in the eye with his big toe. Maybe he is a contortionist? Anyway my point is that I am so glad we did it and I encourage everyone that is pregnant or will be pregnant some day to do this. It is well worth it. We were sent home with a DVD of the sonogram and like six black and white pics and two color pics. We were even given a nifty little website subscription. Check it out for some pics.

Word of the Day
ignominious • \ig-nuh-MIN-ee-us\ • adjective
1 : marked with or characterized by disgrace or shame : dishonorable
2 : deserving of shame or infamy : despicable
*3 : humiliating, degrading
The stick-in-the-mud teacher told her students that "That's what she said" is an ignominous comment that is not appropriate for the classroom.
So I'm bored, what can I say. I thought I could enhance my vocabulary and provide my readers with an enhanced vocabulary as well. I'm such a teacher!
This week has been somewhat uneventful which in my book is usually a good thing. Eventful weeks are usually filled with crappy news, crappy situations, or anything that is just plain crappy.
I finally got my car back on Tuesday. Goodbye minivan! (FYI, it is very difficult to try to type on my blog when my cat is blocking the computer screen.) Also on Tuesday I had to do a three hour long glucose test. This required me to first go to my doctor's office to pick up the order for the test and then I had to go over to LabCorp and get my blood drawn a total of four times. The first blood draw was a cake walk. Then I had to drink a sugary drink that was kind of like orange crush with about thirteen packets of sweet n low added to it. Tasty. After I finished it, I was given a blood draw schedule..........10:50, 11:50, and 12:50. Thankfully I have good veins so they were able to alternate between my arms. After the first blood draw I had to go back out into the tiny waiting room and watch people shuffle in and shuffle out while I sat there waiting for another blood draw. That was basically what happened the whole time I was there. Everyone was leaving except me! (Did I mention this was a fasting blood draw?) I was hungry, irritable, and having to get my blood drawn.........I'm surprised I didn't kill someone while I was in the waiting room because we all know how I feel about waiting. Finally I was able to go home, but I decided to go eat first..........hooray for food. Then I went and dropped off the mommy mobile and picked up my shiny silver PT Cruiser.
Wednesday I went to Kohl's to exchange some maternity clothes my m-i-l bought me that didn't quite fit (a little too snug) and then Andy and I went to Babies R Us to register for baby stuff. That was quite entertaining. My husband is one of those that if it looks cool and we might use it he's gonna scan it. His philosphy is that someone might buy it for us so why don't we go ahead and scan it. I'm more of a needs based shopper. What are the things we need or the things we are going to need? I'll scan those items. All that baby stuff was a bit overwhelming...........where is all of it going to fit in our house?
Thursday I got a haircut.......really a trim actually and I scheduled an appointment for a 4D sonogram which I'm very excited about. We've only had two sonograms at this point so any chance to see our little bundle of joy is exciting to me.
Which brings me to today. I've not left the house yet, but I have actually gotten dressed for the day.
We still need to register at Target which I guess we will do sometime this weekend since my baby shower is next Saturday. I am assuming my blood test came out okay because my doctor never called me with the results............again no news is good news.

My week = waiting
My week has been a week of waiting. I hate waiting............lines, on people, on information, etc. Waiting has got to be one of the worst things for me. Apparently I am not very skilled in the art of patience. The word patience has sparked my interest into its actual definition. (Since my interest is perked, I fire up m-w.com and type in the word patience. It takes a little while to load and I notice down at the bottom of my screen it says waiting on http://www.m-w.com/patience.........is this irony or what?) So I finally get to the actual definition of patience and here it is
Main Entry:
pa·tience
Pronunciation:
\ˈpā-shən(t)s\
Function:
noun
Date:
13th century
1: the capacity, habit, or fact of being patient
well what exactly is patient...........
Main Entry:
1pa·tient
Pronunciation:
\ˈpā-shənt\
Function:
adjective
Etymology:
Middle English pacient, from Anglo-French, from Latin patient-, patiens, from present participle of pati to suffer; perhaps akin to Greek pēma suffering
Date:
14th century
1: bearing pains or trials calmly or without complaint2: manifesting forbearance under provocation or strain3: not hasty or impetuous4: steadfast despite opposition, difficulty, or adversity5 a: able or willing to bear
ahhh i'm an assured, i'm not a patient person............bearing pains or trials calmly or without complaint? wtf? if you know me at all you know I do enjoy complaining every once in a while, i mean, take a look at the stuff i blog about.........bitch, bitch, bitch!
I digress............
Anyway, I've been impatiently waiting all week long. First, I had to go to the dr.'s office for my two week routine check-up. i knew that i would have to wait a while because i had to do the glucose test for gestational diabetes at this appointment. so to prepare for this, i decided to head over a little early. my appt. wasn't until 2 so i got there around 1:40. the office was swamped. there was a new receptionist that didn't have a clue what was going on and so I finally got my lovely fruity beverage around 1:50. i consumed it in record speed and it actually didn't taste that bad. then i began the waiting process. as the waiting room became more and more packed i noticed that the people that were being called back to see the doc were not coming out. what was going on in there? were they selling them as sex slaves? more waiting. finally the nice girl called me back and i was elated at one moment and scared about the sex slave thing the next moment, but went into the back area, nonetheless. i must say i felt a bit triumphant over the other losers that were still sitting in the waiting room. so i go get on the scale, get my blood pressure taken, and do a piss test..........then the girl tells me to go in the fourth room and what? what was that? oh yeah.................WAIT. so i did. i waited and waited and waited. i didn't bring a book this time and i started cussing at myself for not doing so. then there was a slight knock and it was the nice girl again telling me to come back out and go ahead and get my blood drawn, because it had been an hour already. i did this, then it was back to the waiting in the fourth room. thirty minutes later i finally got to see the doc. she measured my belly and asked how i was feeling and told me which pediatrician she recommended and sent me on my way. All of that waiting for what? ten minutes of doc time! sooo not worth it. That was Monday.
Tuesday. My mother-in-law just moved into a new house not too long ago and she asked if i would mind coming over to wait for two people to show up at the house. One was a guy coming to measure for granite counter tops, the other the phone guy coming to drop another line in one of the bedrooms. Both said they would be there between 8-12. As much as I hated getting up early, I said I would do it. I showed up over there around 9 and began the waiting. A little after 10, the counter top guy came and measured. He was gone in 20 mins. One down, one to go. Since she doesn't have much stuff set up yet, I have limited things to do over there to occupy my time, so I decided to just go to sleep. I woke up a little bit before 12 and still no phone guy. I decided to wait til after 12 to report my findings to MIL. 12:30 and still no phone guy. I call her and tell her the deal, so she calls the phone company. Come to find out, the order was cancelled because there was some mistake when it was originally entered into the system, so nobody was going to be coming out. Well those of you who know my MIL know that that wasn't going to work for her. She bitched and complained enough for them to tell her that they would in fact have someone out at some point (some point is sooo vague) Tuesday. Well apparently all they did was tell her that because no one ever came on Tuesday. Then they said that it would be picked up the next day between 8-5. Gee what a lovely time table!
Wednesday. Same as Tuesday, minus the counter top guy. 12:30 still no phone guy. Tired of waiting for the third day in a row, I called dear old MIL and she got on the phone. She had to wait on hold for over an hour and a half. Finally they told her that yes, someone is scheduled to be out today, but there is no way of knowing when. I basically say Fuck it and stick a note on the door for the phone guy.................."Dear Douche Bag, do not leave you sorry mother fucker. i've been waiting all damn day for you to get your lazy ass out here to drop one damn phone line, so whatever you do, do not leave. Call me and I'll be over here faster than you can say AT&T sucks. P.S. If you leave, I will hunt you down and murder you, your wife, your kids, your mother, and your dog." Okay so it wasn't those words exactly, but you get the idea. I headed home to where there was actually cable t.v. and internet to pass my time with. Around 2:30 my MIL called and said that the phone company called and told her someone was on their way right now and that i needed to get my ass over there asap. I did just that. I hopped into my sweltering hot, black mini-van (its a rental) and hauled ass over to her house killing cats, dogs, small children, whatever got in my way! Sure enough the DB............douche bag for those of you who skipped the part about my love letter............was sitting there in his sorry ass AT&T truck waiting for me. Oh how i would have loved to have made him wait on me for eight fucking hours! But no, the company doesn't have to wait on us, the customer, we have to wait on them, even though we're the ones paying their sorry ass wages! again WTF? So I go in and tell him where it goes and tell him where the attic is and try not to talk to him at all, you know the whole cold shoulder, silent treatment thing! Yes I'm in sixth grade, for those of you who were wondering. He pokes and prods and bangs a few times and comes out and says okay I'm done, do you have any questions. I opened my mouth to let all of the cussing humanly possible come spilling out, but then relaxed and said no, i don't think so. He went on his merry little way and so did I.
The sad thing is that it is only Wednesday. I have three more days of potential waiting to endure. I guess we'll just wait and see what happens!
(If you actually read this whole thing through, I am a bit worried about you. Don't you have anything better to do with your time?)

Karma
webster defines it as the force generated by a person's actions held in Hinduism and Buddhism to perpetuate transmigration and in its ethical consequences to determine the nature of the person's next existence............the force generated by a person's actions.................basically if you do good, good comes to you and if you do bad, well then eventually sooner or later, you're gonna get fucked.
I do not claim to be a do gooder. I'm not a goody good and I don't ever want to be, but at the same time, I'm not a bad person either. I'm happily somewhere in the middle (but closer to good than to bad I think). So why am i getting bad when i'm not putting out bad?
For instance, what seems like forever ago, I got into a small little car accident and it was not my fault. I got in touch with my insurance and the lady's insurance and filed a claim on her insurance for the damages she did to my car. Well apparently if you dodge phone calls from your insurance company, eventually they will just give up, and advice you (the innocent one) to claim the damage on your insurance. I thought that this was completely ludacris (you know, like the rapper) and said basically.....HELL NO. So finally the insurance company did get in touch with the she-devil and they mailed me a check for the damages done along with an estimate about what it was going to take to fix it.
So I finally decide to go get my car fixed yesterday. The auto repair shop told me that it would be about 900.00 to fix the damages done and I wanted to jump for joy. Maybe there was in fact karma and justice in the world, because the insurance company had issued me a check for a little over 1600.00 to repair the damages. Of course I jumped right on it and did a happy dance in my head due to the fact that I would be saving 700.00...........not really saving, but getting 700.00 from the insurance company to do with as I pleased. HOORAY!!!! I thought.
This morning the repair guy called and said that the damage was more extensive than what he thought it was and it would cost more than the 900.00 he quoted me. Immediately I was saddened, and a little panicked. What if it cost more than 1600.00 to fix my damn car? What then? Finally a few minutes ago, he called back and said it was going to be closer to 1500.00 to fix my car. :( No bonus for me this time. No karma saying, "we realize the accident was not your fault, and all the trouble you had to go through was a pain in the ass, here's a little bonus!" No, no, karma did not say that. Instead, karma said, "hey you got hit by some crazy ass lady, and you should be thankful that you're getting it fixed on her dime instead of yours. stop whining you cry baby!"
But I want it to be known that I am not complaining about this. I am perfectly fine with having to pay 1500.00 for the repairs. I AM NOT COMPLAINING. Did you hear that karma?
